Carter's two week Check Up

Today was Carter's two week doctor appointment; he's now 8 lbs, 5 oz, so he's gained half a pound and doing great!

Cooking with Gramma

Bonnie has been cooking for us all week, which of course has been wonderful and such a big help right now with the new baby, but also a lot of fun for Braden! They've been cooking tons of things together...here they are making cupcakes!

Week with Gramma Seigfried

Braden has really enjoyed this week having Gramma Seigfried all to himself...they've been playing for hours with the blocks, legos, and of course trains. They even made a game out of an old box :)

Carter's first Bath

We were dreading giving Carter his first bath because he's so sensitive to cold (he's a perfect baby until you go to change his diaper!), but surprisingly he did just fine!

Chapin Orchard

While baby Carter and I rested at home, Gramma Seigfried and Scott took Braden apple picking at Chapin Orchard. They grow over 25 varieties of apples, and it's an event around here to go pick them and figure out your favorite...I was told Braden had two and a half apples himself! They also have pumpkins and apple cider too, so hopefully I'll be able to get out of the house and go check it out soon for myself. When we got home Bonnie made us an apple pie and apple betty...yummy!

Carter meets the family!

Only 4 days old and Carter has already met both Grandma Linda and Grandma Bonnie, as well as Grandma and Grandpa Ballard and Aunt Jackie and Uncle Bill over skype...don't you just love technology?!?




Obviously there are a few VERY important people still to meet (The Adams family and both Grandpas Seigfried and Greg and Uncles Matt and Dave) but he's off to a great start :)

Welcome Carter James Seigfried!

Carter James has arrived! He was born at 6:38pm on Wednesday, September 16th and weighed in at 7' 13 oz and was 21" long. Not quite a "Vermonster" but a bit bigger than his big brother!

One LONG Week

Well, my Mom has been here for one full week now (and Greg most of a week) in anticipation of baby Carter, but he's still not here! I expected him to be one week early like Braden was, but now he's two days late...and counting! Very frustrating and difficult for me! Luckily, they've helped a lot with Braden and he's had tons of fun playing with Grandma Linda and Grandmpa Greg, as you can see :)

Hiawatha Playgroup

Today was the first day after the long summer break of our Thursday playgroup at the Hiawatha Elementary school, and since I STILL haven't had to go to the hospital for this baby, my Mom, Braden and I decided to go visit with our friends. We LOVE this group of kids and moms!!!! SO very happy we're in the group again this year...we missed it this summer!!

Champlain Valley Fair, part 3

Since my mom is here for 10 days and the baby still has not made his arrival, we decided to go to the Fair yesterday to show Grandma Linda a few of Braden's favorite things there.

Vermont Balloon Rally

On Saturday my Mom, Braden and I went to the Shelburne Museum to check out the balloon rally. This was the first time any of us had actually seen hot air balloons being launched...it was quite intriguing! Braden was mesmerized by the whole process (well, that is, when he wasn't running around like a crazy person)!

4 Years and Counting...

Four years ago today I married my best friend!!



Our anniversary gift...hopefully a healthy happy baby boy soon! Lots of exciting changes in our lives over the past four years...three homes in three states, wonderful assignments to AZ and VT, and two (almost) beautiful children! I couldn't imagine a better person to spend my life with! Love you babe...four years and counting!!!

Pirate Party

Today Braden and I went to Ethan's birthday party, which had a really fun pirate theme...treasure chest pinata, treasure favors, and cup cakes with pirate pictures that the kids could paint with edible paint...so cute!

Coloring at Christy's

Since we're on baby watch, Braden has been spending a little more time at Christy's this week, which he doesn't seem to mind at all! Here he is coloring this morning...these kids all get along so well, and he loves to go play with his friends!
